EYE-573 LASERHAWK is an Airborne Directed-Energy Weapon Platform with dual flight geometry, to offer both high speed deployment, and low speed endurance gliding in single airframe.
_
In interception missions, Laserhawk climbs high-altitude in JET mode, then transforms into GLIDER mode by deploying telescopic wings to glide in slow speeds and dedicate the jet engine's power output to laser generator.
_
In patrolling missions, Laserhawk can take off in Glider layout with extended telescopic wings used as fuel tank, to maximize its flight duration. Then use the JET mode only for emergency maneuverers.
_
Laser turret in glass dome, hides in underside the front fuselage to cut drag, and only pops out when in use. The flight platform is optimised to climb fast in high altitude and stay there in long duration, to avoid dense air and cloud coverage in low altitude, thus maximising laser turret's range to engage the aggressors.
_
The Laserhawk also utilizes electromagnetic solid-state flight control surfaces, by ionising and magnetically steering the air around the wings, thus managing the lift performance and flow direction real-time for required need. This cancels out any moving parts in flight surfaces; improving reliability and service life.
